Utah window rebates, as they actually read.

Two real programs, the exact conditions, every figure dated and sourced, and the one credit that no longer exists. We re-check this page against the published utility terms every month and log every change below.

First, the one that is gone.

The federal window tax credit expired December 31, 2025. It is not available for windows installed in 2026. If a quote you are looking at includes a federal tax credit, the number at the bottom of that quote is wrong.

The short version

Both programs draw the same line: a U-Factor of 0.22 or lower on the NFRC sticker. Both are for existing homes only. One pays per window, one pays per square foot, so which is worth more to you depends on the size of your glass rather than on the count.

Keep every NFRC sticker and every itemized invoice. Those two pieces of paper are what the applications are built around, and they are the most common reason a rebate stalls.

Rebate approval is made by the utility, not by Lone Peak Windows. Program terms are set by the utilities and change with notice. These figures were checked against the published program terms on the date shown above, and we check them again every month. We will tell you honestly whether the glass package you are quoted qualifies.

Rebate questions, answered straight

Is there still a federal tax credit for windows in 2026?

No. The federal tax credit for energy efficient windows expired on December 31, 2025, and it does not apply to windows installed in 2026. If a quote includes it, the number at the bottom of that quote is wrong.

What U-Factor qualifies for Utah window rebates in 2026?

0.22 or lower on the NFRC sticker, for both programs. Rocky Mountain Power also requires the window to be ENERGY STAR rated. There is no partial credit above 0.22 under either program.

How much is the Rocky Mountain Power Wattsmart window rebate?

It pays per window: $50 per window on electrically heated homes, and $30 per window on centrally cooled homes and on dual fuel heat pump homes. Existing single-family homes only, on rate schedule 1, 2, or 3. Applications are due within 180 days of the installation being completed.

How much is the Enbridge Gas ThermWise window rebate?

It pays $2.50 per square foot of window area on qualifying windows, for existing homes with primary gas heating on a GS rate schedule. The rebate request must be postmarked within 6 months of the installation date, and the 2026 promotion runs 01/01/2026 through 12/31/2026.

Can I get both Utah window rebates on the same project?

They are separate programs from separate utilities with separate applications, so they are not exclusive of each other. A home with primary gas heat on an Enbridge GS rate schedule and central cooling served by Rocky Mountain Power can meet both sets of conditions. Approval is always the utility's decision.

What paperwork do the Utah window rebate applications need?

Keep the NFRC sticker from every window and the itemized invoice. ThermWise asks for the dimensions of every installed window, the original or a copy of each NFRC sticker, a recent Enbridge Gas bill, and an itemized invoice showing the contractor, dates, manufacturer, model, dimensions, U-Factor, price, and proof of payment. Losing the stickers is the most common way people lose this money.
